Styles flow together for “Convergence”
Ten puzzle pieces, ten artists and one painting is the concept behind “Convergence”. Multiple artists have joined their styles together to form one large work at Pacific Park Gallery, 1957 Thompson Rd., Coos Bay. The exhibit will hang through October.
The public is invited to an Artists Reception 5-8 p.m., Friday, Aug. 15 at the Gallery.
Artists were given one piece of a photograph produced by Patricia Davidson, Coos Bay. Without seeing the complete image, each artist produced a work using their puzzle piece as a source. The pieces have been joined together to create a 10 ft. by 6 ft. single work. The resulting work is a study in how different artists interpret a subject and how those styles can come together to present one interesting piece.
Viewers are able to see different painting methods and genres, such as colorist, naturalist, representational, abstraction, and expressionist. Media include collage, watercolor, acrylic and oil.
Participating artists are, SL Donaldson, Carolyn Le Grand, Susan Lehman, Mike Ousley, Wendy Ralston-Burger, Ava Richey, Sarita Southgate, Melanie Schwartz, Pat Snyder, and Victoria Tierney.
In the Salon gallery, the Convergence artists will exhibit other singular works. The Mezzanine gallery will feature multiple works by photographer Patricia Davidson.
Pacific Park Gallery, 1957 Thompson Rd., is located inside the Pacific Coast Medical Park, one block west of Bay Area Hospital. The show will hang through October. Regular gallery hours are 7:30 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday.
