Dr. Darin O'Bryan
DDS
Dr. Darin O’Bryan was born in Red Wing, Minnesota, and spent much of his childhood moving across the United States. He returned to Minnesota to graduate from the University of Minnesota Dental School in 1996. Afterward, he became a partner in a large group practice in Minneapolis, where he practiced until 2004. Seeking a change, he followed family connections and relocated to the South Coast of Oregon with his wife and two daughters.
In addition to his clinical practice, Dr. O’Bryan serves as an Associate Professor in the OHSU Dental program and mentors multiple dental groups. He is a Faculty Club member of Spear Education and a CEREC Mentor at the Scottsdale Center for Dentistry in Arizona. In the spring of 2010, he became the official CEREC trainer for Oregon, Southern Washington, and Northern California. Once a month, Dr. O’Bryan travels to Portland and other regions to educate fellow dentists on the latest advancements in dental technology.
Beyond mentoring, Dr. O’Bryan is an active speaker, addressing dental societies and national dental classes on innovations in dentistry and his successful integration of cutting-edge technology into a small-town practice. His expertise in Cone Beam CT technology and his ability to place implants—from extraction to final restoration—have been featured in national and international dental publications.
Dr. O’Bryan has completed extensive advanced training in areas such as cosmetic restorations, implant placement, grafting, full mouth rehabilitations, and other complex dental procedures typically referred to specialists.
Outside of dentistry, Dr. O’Bryan is involved in the Coos Bay Yacht Club on Tenmile Lake, where he enjoys racing a Geary 18 sailboat with his wife and oldest daughter. Since moving to the Oregon coast in 2004, he has become a dedicated member of the local community, continuing to support and contribute to the region.
