Fiber artists are asked to portray healing: personal, global, environmental, spiritual, political, etc.
Categories
All entries must use fabric as the primary medium and can be quilted, felted, beaded, painted, etc.; using traditional and non-traditional methods to create the final artwork.
Original Free-Form Design: Wall art depicting the subject matter and demonstrating personal expression and originality in design and techniques.
Traditional Quilting: Traditional-style piecing and/or appliqué, using blocks and/or patterns in the public domain or original design using traditional quilting techniques. Quilting for this exhibit is defined as composed of at least two fabric layers that are stitched together.
Entry deadline is August 26, 2016. Notification of acceptance will be made by Sept. 30. Artists may be notified by email or by mail. If you prefer mail notification, please send a SASE with your entry form.

Monday, Oct. 28, 10 a.m. – noon: Delivery to Pacific Park Gallery, 1957 Thompson Rd., Coos Bay, OR. (Artists are responsible for delivery and pick up of their entries. Shipping arrangements can be made upon acceptance to the show.)

Jurors: Artists Susan Lehman and Paulette Landers
Paulette Landers’ contemporary art quilts have won numerous awards, including First Place at the International Quilt Festival, Houston, and Road to California. She has exhibited at the Visions Art Museum in San Diego. Her work has been shown in the major juried quilt shows in Houston, Paducah, Long Beach, Road to California. Her quilts have appeared in Quilters Newsletter Magazine, IQA Quilt Scene, SAQA Journal. She graduated from California State University, Fullerton with emphasis in Fiber Arts.
Susan Lehman holds a BFA in Textiles, and is renowned for her multi-media work, including loom weaving, fabric book making, and collage. Susan was a 2014 and 2015 juror and is looking forward to seeing this year’s entries. She will be looking for good design, technique, composition and originality.
Awards: “Best of Show,” “Best Traditional,” “Best Free-Form” and a “People’s Choice” will be awarded. At the judge’s discretion, they may award “Honorable Mention,” “Judge’s Choice,” and “Best Theme Interpretation” awards. Some, not all, awards are monetary.
Entry Guidelines
- “In Stitches” is open to all Oregon fabric artists.
- Entries must have wall-hanging apparatus, such as wooden doweling, hanging wire or cording.
- Each artist may submit jpegs of up to three entries. Jurors will review the jpegs and may request a personalviewing of finalists work before selecting exhibitors.
- Artists are encouraged to submit up to three additional jpegs showing details of the entry.
- The attached entry form must accompany the submission with an entry fee of $15. Artists may submit 3entries for one fee.
- Digital File format must be in jpg format minimum of 300 dpi. All entries from one artist must be on oneCD-ROM. Each artist’s CD must be labeled on the outside with the artist’s name, title of the works and finished size in inches. Name the electronic files as follows:

C. title of work.jpgDetail images should be named as follows:
